In 1995 visual effects supervisor Peter McCully established a visual effects company (then known as Cinemagic) to provide high quality visual effects to the New Zealand film industry. Cinemagic’s speciality was the production of both traditional and digital matte paintings. As the company’s client base grew, so did the scope and nature of the productions it was involved in. In 1999 the company re-branded as Albedo VFX. Today Albedo VFX is producing visual effects for international and New Zealand clients in the film and broadcast realm. The scope of our work includes 3D animation, visual effects design, direction and supervision, compositing, blue/green screen cinematography, miniatures, matte painting, motion graphics, title design, pre-visualisation and storyboards. Our effects work encompases all manner and sizes of media from webcast, standard definition broadcast through to HD, 2K, and 4K.
